Categories of data we collect
Browsing data
Web servers automatically collect technical information when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, referring URL). This data is used for security and basic operation logs only and is not used to identify you.
Data you provide voluntarily
If you contact us via the contact form, we collect the data you submit (name, email address, phone number if provided, organisation, subject and message content). This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
Browser storage
We use localStorage and sessionStorage for technical purposes only (admin authentication, language preference, UI cache, cookie banner dismissal). See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Legal basis for processing
- Technical cookies and browser storage strictly necessary for the operation of the site: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), exempt from consent under Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive.
- Data submitted via the contact form: consent of the data subject (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), provided implicitly by submitting the form, with information about the processing displayed on the form itself.
- Server access logs: legitimate interest in maintaining the security and integrity of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — to obtain confirmation of whether we process your data and a copy of it.
- Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ('right to be forgotten') — to request deletion of your data when no longer necessary.
- Right to restriction of processing — to limit how we use your data in specific circumstances.
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority of your EU country of residence (e.g. Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy, garanteprivacy.it; CNIL in France, cnil.fr).
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@bluecompanion.eu.
International transfers
Personal data collected through this website is processed within the European Economic Area / United Kingdom. We do not transfer data outside the EU/UK as part of normal site operation. Web fonts are self-hosted (no Google Fonts CDN). Embedded YouTube videos use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com): no data is transferred to YouTube/Google until you actively start a video; if you do, your interaction with the YouTube player is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Retention period
- Server access logs: 12 months, then automatically purged.
- Data submitted via the contact form: kept for the time necessary to respond to your enquiry, plus a follow-up period of up to 24 months, after which the data is deleted.
- Browser storage items: see Cookie Policy for individual durations.
